Marriott International's chain has announced the opening of its first two hotels in Japan, the Moxy Tokyo Kinshicho and the Moxy Osaka Honmachi.

Opened through a partnership with Japanese real estate group Pacifica Capital K.K., Moxy Tokyo Kinshicho comprises 205 rooms, close to the city center. In partnership with EGW Asset Management Inc., Moxy Osaka Honmachi comprises 155 rooms located in the center of Osaka, close to the city's shops and nightlife hangouts.

Those two properties will be the first of the Moxy brand in Japan, and bear testimony to the opening of the country to the boutique hotel market. With the opening of a new hotel in Tbilissi in 2018, Moxy will soon comprise four hotels in Asia.
