The Mercure Szczyrk Resort has officially opened, marking a, important addition to the hospitality industry in Poland and Europe. Located in the southern Beskid Śląski mountains, the resort is now the longest hotel in Europe, stretching 330 meters.
Situated 660 meters above sea level, the hotel’s design draws inspiration from its natural surroundings and history. Originally opened in the 1970s as the Orle Gniazdo (Eagle's Nest) Convention and Leisure Center, the property has undergone extensive renovations and expansion under the ownership of the Accor hotel chain, which purchased it in 2021. The updated Mercure Szczyrk Resort now includes nine floors and 447 rooms, each with views of Skrzyczne mountain.
Designed by Pracownia ARC and Gronner & Rączka Architekci, the hotel’s architecture blends modern comfort with traditional elements. The building is designed to integrate with the mountain landscape while offering guests a variety of amenities, including a wellness area, fitness center, spa, and water park with pools and a poolside bar. Dining options include two restaurants and three bars.
The resort caters to both leisure and business travelers, with 2,500 square meters of conference space that can accommodate up to 1,200 guests across 14 rooms. Moreover, the property includes a helipad in addition to road access.
The Mercure Szczyrk Resort officially opened on September 9, 2024, further expanding Accor's portfolio in Poland and offering modern accommodations alongside views and a connection to the local culture.
