Maybourne Hotel Group, the operator of three of London’s most renowned hotels, has announced a new addition to its portfolio. The Emory will be managed by the luxury hotel operator when it opens in winter 2023. The move brings Maybourne’s portfolio to six hotels in London, Beverly Hills, and the French Riviera.
The Emory will be located in Knightsbridge inside a landmark building designed by the late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour of architectural firm RSHP. Each of its nine floors showcases the work of a different famed interior designer, including Alexandra Champalimaud, André Fu, Pierre Yves Rochon, Rémi Tessier, and Patricia Urquiola.
The hotel’s accommodation offer will consist of 60 suites, including a penthouse designed by Rigby & Rigby. Its rooftop will be exclusively reserved for guests and offer 360° views over the British capital. An underground wellness space, featuring a 22 m pool, set across four floors will cover guests’ wellbeing needs.
Jean-Georges Vongerichten will sign The Emory’s culinary offer. The Manhattan-based chef will introduce his ABC concept of fresh, local, and conscious cuisine to London for the first time.
The new addition joins Claridge’s, The Connaught, and The Berkeley in Maybourne’s London portfolio. The General Manager of The Berkeley, Knut Wylde, will also head up The Emory.
This is our first new London property in 50 years, and we believe it will be a truly ground-breaking new addition to our distinguished hotel family. We plan to bring the inspiration and creative energy that have made our other hotels so notable, whilst also making The Emory a world class hub of art and culture. This opening further cements our vision and commitment to growing Maybourne Hotel Group and heralds a bold new future for the company.
