Marriott International has announced its expansion into apartment-style accommodations. The offering has been developed to respond to growing consumer demands as the popularity of blending work and leisure burgeons and younger travellers display an increasing desire for wider accommodation options.
By introducing Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, the company expects to expand portfolio growth across the world and bring the serviced-apartment concept to North American guests. It will build upon its 26 years of experience with Marriott Executive Apartments, its serviced-apartment brand in Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
The offering will be introduced in Marriott’s upper-upscale and luxury segments. Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy will feature a separate living room and bedroom, a full kitchen, and an in-unit washer and dryer for those seeking spacious premium accommodations equipped with home-like amenities.
It should adhere to a similar design approach as the Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio brands by offering developers the flexibility to build new properties or convert existing one in order to create unique and independent experiences.
Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy will distinguish itself from the company’s existing extended-stay brands. Firstly, it will offer distinctly designed products that reflect the local area. Secondly, it will not provide certain traditional hotel services such as F&B, meeting spaces, and retail units.
Travellers planning vacations and long business trips today are seeking more choice in accommodations, and the introduction of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy responds to those trends while offering developers a premium product backed by our trusted name and distribution platform. With Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, guests will be able to shop a wider array of accommodation options within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, growing their loyalty to the portfolio and its range of brand offerings.
