Succeeding long-time executive Dan Flannery, he will take up his new responsibilities with immediate effect.
Mr Fluhr’s principal tasks will be to steer the brand through its ambitious growth plans. He will oversee marketing and PR strategy, nightlife, the development of a F&B concept and new openings, amongst other aspects of EDITION’s evolution. The brand is set to open its 15th property later this year in Tampa, and other openings in Rome and Riviera Maya are also on the cards.
A graduate from Cornell, where he studied Hotel & Restaurant Management, as well as the holder of an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business in Marketing & Real Estate Finance, Josh Fluhr has over 30 years’ experience in the industry.
Having passed by notable groups and hotels like Starwood Hotels & Resorts and SBE Entertainment, where he directed operations, Mr Fluhr first joined EDITION in 2010 as Senior Director of Operations. After five years at Morgans Hotel Group in the roles of Senior Vice President, Operations and COO, he rejoined EDITION in 2016. Occupying the position of Vice President, Operations, F&B Development and Brand Management, he notably participated in the opening of 11 of the brand’s 14 existing properties.
Dan Flannery will be sorely missed as a one-of-a-kind leader and gentleman who embodied everything EDITION tried to achieve. However, Edition is so lucky to have a man of Josh’s calibre, intelligence, know-how, experience, and expertise to step in right away. Having worked so closely with Dan at EDITION, I’m sure the transition will be seamless, and I personally can rest easy and be totally confident with Josh at the helm for the future of the brand.
