InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG) [LON:IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)] has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Sir Ron Kalifa as a Non-Executive Director, starting on January 1, 2024. This strategic move reflects IHG's unwavering commitment to assembling a board of directors with a wide range of experiences, competencies, talents but also expertise.
Sir Ron Kalifa is a distinguished addition to the IHG team, as he brings a trove of experience and know-how. Presently, he serves as the Chairman of Network International, a prominent payments operator that covers the Middle East and Africa. In addition, Sir Kalifa holds the role of Non-Executive Director and Senior Independent Director on the Court of Directors at the Bank of England.
His career includes serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Worldpay from 2002 to 2013, a position he held until his appointment as Deputy Chair, a role he maintained until February 2020. Prior to this, Sir Ron Kalifa played pivotal leadership roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland (now NatWest Group plc) from 1986 to 2002, where he accumulated extensive experience in operations, sales, marketing, and eCommerce.
