Unauthorised access to IHG systems

In a statement released on 6th September 2022, InterContinental Hotels Group PLC announced that parts of its technology systems were subject to unauthorised activity.

IHG’s booking channels and other applications experienced significant disruptions due to this activity. The group is working to fully restore all systems and to assess the nature, extent and impact of the incident. It is doing so in collaboration with its technology suppliers and has also called on external specialists to investigate the incident.

The group has implemented its response plans and notified the necessary regulatory bodies. IHG is providing support for its hotel owners and operators as part of its response to this disruption. Its hotels are still operational and able to take bookings directly.

The person responsible for the group’s announcement is Nicolette Henfrey, EVP, General Counsel & Company Secretary.

Further updates from InterContinental Hotels Group PLC regarding this incident are anticipated.
