Hyatt Hotels Corporation has reported significant growth in its global development pipeline, which now includes 129,000 rooms, representing an 85 percent increase since 2017.

Hyatt's strategic approach includes increasing its presence in lifestyle and resort segments and introducing the new upper-midscale Hyatt Studios brand.

“Hyatt's ability to lead the industry in net rooms growth for seven years is a result of our unique approach to development," "We strategically expand our portfolio of brands, intentionally selecting new and existing markets to enhance our network effect for owners and guests. Our commitment to thoughtful organic growth and strategic acquisitions amplifies our asset-light business model. Our goal is not to be the largest hospitality company, but the company most valued by colleagues, guests, and owners.” - Mark Hoplamazian, president and chief executive officer, Hyatt.

In Europe, Hyatt is set to expand its footprint with several notable developments. One of the key upcoming properties is the "me and all Berlin East Side," which is expected to open in August 2024. This hotel represents one of the initial deals with the Lindner Hotel Group and will be part of the JdV by Hyatt collection, offering 223 guest rooms.

In Rome, the Thompson Rome is slated to open in mid-2025. This 70-room property will be situated in the heart of the city, marking the first Thompson branded hotel in Italy. It will be housed in a historic building that once served as the headquarters of the Italian Communist Party.

Additionally, the Thompson Seville will open in 2026, becoming the first Hyatt hotel in Seville and the fourth Thompson branded hotel in Europe. These new hotels are part of Hyatt’s efforts to introduce its brands to new markets and attract diverse guests.

Hyatt's expansion is not limited to Europe. In other regions, the company is also planning significant growth. In the Americas, new properties include the Thompson Palm Springs and the Andaz Miami Beach. In Asia Pacific, Hyatt is introducing properties such as the Andaz One Bangkok and Thompson Shanghai Expo. These expansions demonstrate Hyatt's global strategy to offer unique, high-end experiences to travelers around the world.

The company’s recent developments include a range of lifestyle hotels designed to meet the growing demand for experiential travel. These hotels integrate elements like food and beverage, art, and music to create holistic experiences that appeal to modern travelers.

Hyatt's Inclusive Collection continues to grow, providing all-inclusive resort experiences in new destinations such as Portugal with the upcoming Dreams Madeira Resort Spa & Marina and the Dominican Republic with Secrets Playa Esmeralda Punta Cana.

Overall, Hyatt's growth momentum is driven by its strategic focus on expanding its portfolio in key markets and enhancing the guest experience through innovative hotel offerings and a strong loyalty program.
