Hyatt Hotels Corporation harbours ambitious growth plans for its portfolio in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. Notable new openings are set for Saudi Arabia, Italy, and Kenya.

Middle East

Hyatt is expected to triple its Saudi portfolio over the next five years. Three major signings made earlier this year will see the company’s footprint in Madinah grow by 1,729 keys. Grand Hyatt Madinah, Hyatt Regency Madinah, and Hyatt Place Madinah will soon open in the holy city.

Openings are also slated for major development projects being led by Saudi Arabia. Miraval The Red Sea, Grand Hyatt The Red Sea, and Park Hyatt Riyadh Diriyah Gate are all set to welcome their first clients in the coming years.

Hyatt will debut two of its lifestyle brands, Andaz and Dream, in Qatar over the course of the next 12 months. Both openings are set for the capital Doha.

Europe

The Thompson Hotels brand will debut in Rome in mid-2024. A franchise agreement with Botteghe Oscure s.r.l. will see the opening of Thompson Rome. The 70-key luxury lifestyle property will become the brand’s second property following the opening of Thompson Madrid last year. Thompson Vienna is slated to boost further the brand’s European presence in 2025.

Housed in a converted and restored 1930s-built palazzo located near the Capitoline Hill, the hotel will feature four F&B outlets, including a rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar, two meeting rooms, and a fitness centre.

We know that there is a growing appetite amongst today’s travellers and developers for hotels that cater to culturally savvy guests and bring a modern approach to conventional hospitality. We are excited to meet this demand with one of the most exciting new hotels in Rome as we continue to scale our luxury, lifestyle, and leisure brands across the region. We are honoured to continue to work with AG Group s.r.l. to welcome the Thompson Hotels brand to one of the world’s most coveted leisure destinations.

Africa

Hyatt will expand in Africa with three openings in Kenya and one in Egypt. Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place, and Hyatt Place will all make their debuts in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi. Finally, a new-build Hyatt Centric is also set for Cairo.
