Alejandro Reynal has decided to leave his post after a three-year tenure with the subsidiary of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Mr Reynal will leave Hyatt on 30th September 2022 to pursue new opportunities. Mark Hoplamazian, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hyatt will take over the helm at Apple Leisure Group on 1st October. In this new capacity, Mr Hoplamazian will be supported by Ray Snisky, Group President ALG Vacations. Mr Snisky will assume additional responsibilities related to the business coordination and other operational matters.
The outgoing President and CEO of Apple Leisure Group first joined the company in 2019, before the 2021 acquisition of ALG by Hyatt. Alejandro Reynal then also became Executive Vice-President and Executive Committee Member of the global hospitality company. Prior to joining ALG and Hyatt, he was CEO & Board Member of Atento for over 7 years and spent the 11 previous years at Telefonica where he occupied various roles, beginning as Country Manager of Puerto Rico and ending up as Global Strategy Director.
I am filled with deep gratitude and respect for Alejandro’s leadership throughout the acquisition and our strong first year as one company. With expertise and passion, Alejandro has led the ALG team to a position of strength and ensured ALG’s business became a thriving part of Hyatt. We have learned a lot from each other, and I personally thank Alejandro for his partnership and friendship, which will endure. Moving ahead, I look forward to collaborating even more closely with each member of the ALG executive committee as we continue our growth journey together.
Mark Hoplamazian, President & CEO of Hyatt
I am immensely proud of what we have built with the ALG leadership team and our colleagues around the world. We have moved through the toughest time in our industry and come out of it stronger than ever. Working with Mark has been an honour – I am thankful to him and his leadership team for how ALG was welcomed into the Hyatt family and impressed by how our team has embraced the opportunities this next chapter brings. I firmly believe in the power of this combination and am very confident in a bright future ahead for both ALG and Hyatt.
