Hilton is anticipating a record year ahead for openings in France as it continues its rapid multi-brand and multi-destination expansion across the European country.

The global hospitality company has seven planned hotel openings in its French pipeline for 2023, which constitutes the highest single-year increase for its portfolio in the country. The openings will encompass many different brands and target Paris, as well as regional cities and seaside resorts.

Zoom on the most anticipated 2023 openings:

Hilton Garden Inn Marseille Provence Airport – the 178-key property is the company’s next opening in France. It will be the largest hotel at the airport when it opens at the end of March.

Marty Hotel Bordeaux, Tapestry Collection by Hilton – the hotel will open in spring under a franchise agreement with Vicartem / ExtendAm. Located in the heart of the city, it will also boast a range of sustainability initiatives, from the use of as many locally sourced ingredients as possible to the careful management of water consumption.

Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette – as part of a franchise agreement with Naos Hotel Group, the brand will open its first hotel in central Paris. The property is set to open its doors in spring.

Canopy by Hilton Cannes – the company’s debut in the chic resort town is expected for summer. Designed by Ramy Fischler, it will offer views over the Old Port from its rooftop. It will open under a franchise agreement with SDPNE.

Sainte-Anne Hotel Dijon, Curio Collection by Hilton – the company will open its first hotel in Burgundy this summer as part of a franchise agreement with Naos Hotel Group. The property will be located in a former 17th-century hospice and boast outdoor terraces, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a Nhoraé spa, as well as a French gastronomic restaurant.

Hilton currently has 24 properties across seven brands in its French development plans for the coming years. This will more than double its current footprint in the country. Over 25% of these new openings are expected to be under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton and Curio Collection by Hilton brands.

The company has introduced several new brands to the market in France over the last couple of years, as evidenced by the openings of Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero and Hotel Camille Paris Gare de Lyon, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in 2021, as well as DoubleTree by Hilton Lyon Eurexpo last year.

We’re experiencing record growth in France, with 2023 set to be a historic high for hotel openings. As a key market for Hilton, we’re focusing on developing hotels in regional French towns and cities, the south coast and continued expansion in Paris. We continue to leverage our award-winning brands to grow market share and capture increased travel demand, particularly as France gets ready to host major global sporting events including the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and Rugby World Cup.
