Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr

[UPDATE] Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, in collaboration with Atlantic Coast Hospitality, a subsidiary of Modon Holding (formerly Q Holding), has announced the official opening of the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr on 1 October 2024. Located in a restored 18th-century palace, the hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and represents the brand's fourth property in Morocco.

The Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr, also known as the 'Palace by the Sea', now boasts 200 rooms and suites, most with balconies or terraces overlooking the ocean. Some of the suites have rooftop terraces or private pools. The flagship suite, the sumptuous Riad du Sultan, occupies the former residence of Sultan Moulay Slimane, built in 1792, and covers almost 1,000 square metres.

The five-hectare complex comprises eleven buildings, five of which are new and six historic, with a design combining historic elements with touches of modern luxury. The property has been refurbished to provide a beachfront space in the heart of Rabat, known as Morocco's 'City of Light'.

The hotel has seven restaurants and lounges, including Brasserie Marie serving French bistro cuisine, Verdello offering Mediterranean and Italian flavours, and Flamme, an all-day dining restaurant overlooking the pools. The Noora Lobby Lounge is dedicated to serving afternoon tea, while the Atlantic Bar specialises in international cocktails. The Laila Lounge is located in the palace's oldest building.

The hotel features an ocean-view spa with ten private treatment rooms, a traditional Moroccan hammam, a beauty salon and an indoor saltwater pool. Two outdoor pools, one of which is an infinity pool with ocean views, are also available.

The hotel offers a modern events centre with 2,700 square metres of indoor and outdoor space, including a 1,021-square-metre Royal Ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests, a secondary ballroom, seven meeting rooms, and a terrace with ocean views.

The transformation of Kasr Al Bahr into a Four Seasons hotel marks a new chapter for this historic palace. Built in the 18th century as the summer palace of Sultan Moulay Slimane, the building was once a military hospital before its closure in 1999. After a major renovation, it reopens its doors as a luxury hotel, ready to welcome travellers from all over the world.

“We are excited to be involved in the evolution of this 18th century oceanfront palace as a Four Seasons hotel. Inspired by our shared commitment to innovation and excellence, we are proud to see the reveal of Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr in Morocco that is sure to generate phenomenal interest and create memorable experiences.” - Bill O’Regan, Group CEO at Modon Holding

"We are thrilled to see the upcoming opening of Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr. Rabat, with a rich history and cultural heritage, stands as a beacon for travellers seeking an authentic and unforgettable experience and is poised for an incredible future as a premier tourist destination. We are proud to contribute to the growth and development of this magnificent city. Morocco, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality, continues to captivate the hearts of tourists from around the globe.” - H.E. Jassem Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of Modon Holding
