easyHotel has set up shop in Dublin with the opening of its 44th property. The international hotel chain harbours ambitious expansion plans, and its network now spans 11 countries. By 2026, easyHotel aims to count 100 hotels in its global portfolio.
easyHotel Dublin City Centre has 160 bedrooms. It is located in the Smithfield area and offers easy access to local attractions such as the Guinness Storehouse, Temple Bar and Dublin Castle. Heuston Station is a 10-minute walk from the hotel and provides access to the city centre and Dublin International Airport.
The Dublin property is BREEAM Very Good certified. As such, the hotel is in line with the brand's environmental commitments. Its rooms and communal areas are kept to a minimum and the building uses a natural ventilation system, reducing carbon emissions per stay by 15-20% compared to hotel market averages. easyHotel's ambition is to become the leader in low-cost, low-carbon hotels.
The chain will expand its European network in the coming months. New openings are planned in the Paris region and in Zurich this year. In the next 15 months, the chain intends to open hotels in 15 countries. In addition, easyHotel has recently acquired a portfolio of 8 franchised hotels in the Netherlands and Brussels and a second franchise with Continuum Hospitality Group in Spain has resulted in the opening of a hotel in Madrid.
We are particularly excited to start 2023 with the opening of our first hotel in Ireland to offer our guests a pleasant stay in Dublin. The city is becoming increasingly popular with both tourists and business travellers, and we are delighted to be able to offer them a cost-effective, low-carbon accommodation solution. To accommodate them, we will build on our strengths: an ideal location, very comfortable bedding, superior soundproofing, blackout blinds, responsible use of energy and space, while keeping our rates affordable. In addition, this operation allows us to enter a new market while pursuing the group's expansion target of 100 hotels by 2026.
