Dusit International has announced plans for a large-scale expansion of its worldwide footprint. The Thai hotel chain aims to reach the 100-property milestone over the next two years.
Dusit International is banking on the recovery of travel following the lifting of health restrictions, particularly in Asia, to double its current portfolio of 50 properties across the globe.
A reported $1.3 billion has been earmarked for this growth project and the company told Nikkei that 70% of the residential space has already been reserved.
The chain has stated its ambition to concentrate this expansion on three key Asian markets: China, India, and Japan.
Dusit will target the Japanese cities of Osaka, Tokyo, and Okinawa, where it believes strong tourist demand will appear in the near future.
Openings in Kyoto, Japan and the Jiangxi province of China are already slated for autumn/winter 2023.
