Courbet, which specialises in the development and management of property assets, mainly in the field of tourist accommodation, and Louvre Hotels Group have announced their partnership for the opening of a Hosho establishment at the Cannes International Campus in 2025.
This collaboration is in line with Courbet's development strategy, which focuses on restructuring and repositioning property assets, and with Louvre Hotels Group's ambitions to sign 200 new hotels in France by 2028.
Following the acquisition of the Campus International de Cannes in March 2023, Courbet has undertaken a number of restructuring initiatives, including extending the living space of the site, which has a potential of 6,000 square metres of building rights. As part of this restructuring, the boarding school will be transformed into a training hotel, providing accommodation for students and seasonal workers, while maintaining language training courses in French, English and Spanish.
The partnership between Courbet and Louvre Hotels Group will see the opening of a Hosho establishment at the Cannes International Campus, offering a combination of youth hostel and budget hotel. Launching in Paris in 2021, the Hosho concept caters for the needs of "urban explorers" offering a range of accommodation options from shared dormitories to double rooms.
The introduction of Hosho to the Cannes International Campus will enable Courbet to diversify its offering and attract more students. Upgrading and renovation work will be undertaken to prepare for the opening of the school in the second half of 2025.
This partnership illustrates Courbet's desire to enhance the value of its assets by joining forces with an international player. The Group is continuing to invest in France and is planning a new acquisition in Lourdes in the near future.
"Louvre Hotels Group is very proud to announce this partnership with Courbet SA for the imminent signature of a franchise agreement to open the second Hosho establishment in France. We have great faith in this new concept, which provides an innovative response to the new expectations of travellers looking for a new generation of urban hotels. - Krystel Blondeau, Managing Director France
"We are delighted to welcome Hosho to our training hotel in the near future. It's a young, dynamic brand that breathes a breath of fresh air. We wanted to modernise the Campus International de Cannes, allow it to rise from the ashes and offer an additional training programme based around highly valued professions. This is a first step towards the renewal of this educational establishment and a new milestone for Courbet." - Michael Benmoussa, Chief Operating Officer of Courbet SA
