The Dutch brand has announced the official opening of its second hotel in Washington state's largest city.
Located near Elliott Bay in one of the city's most historic areas, the hotel comprises 216 rooms across its 10 floors and 6,216 square metres. It will be part of the regeneration of Pioneer Square, which is set to become one of the main cultural and artistic neighbourhoods in Seattle. As a result, citizenM selected local artist RYAN! Feddersen to create a mosaic on the façade of the hotel.
The hotel subscribes to the brand's signature concept of 'affordable luxury for all'. Its rooms contain XL King size beds with extra comfortable mattresses, rain showers and iPads to control the lights, blinds and TV. Its central location also gives guests easy access to the art galleries, boutiques, bistros and cafes of the city's 'old town’.
For the design of the citizenM Seattle Pioneer Square, the brand turned to its long-standing partners. The Dutch firm concrete, the architectural firm Gensler and the general contractor Mortensen all assisted citizenM in the development of the project.
It joins the citizenM South Lake Union hotel, which opened in the city in 2020. The brand is pursuing an ambitious expansion plan with aims of having 40 hotels in its portfolio by 2024.
We are excited to be part of the growth and cultural renaissance of Seattle's Pioneer Square neighbourhood with the opening of citizenM Seattle Pioneer Square this spring. With a selection of works by local Washington artists and our proximity to the best the city has to offer in terms of galleries, museums, shops, restaurants and bars, we are excited to be able to offer guests and visitors an unparalleled and culturally rich experience both inside and outside the hotel.
