Barceló Hotel Group has announced the inauguration of Occidental Tangier, its first Occidental-branded hotel in Morocco.
Situated in Cape Malabata, this 4-star hotel features 170 rooms, including 17 suites, located just a short distance from the beach and 10 kilometers from the city center.
Nestled within a historic architectural complex dating back to the early 20th century, Occidental Tangier offers guests a restaurant serving Spanish and Moroccan cuisine, accompanied by an outdoor terrace. Concerning the amenities, the hotel boasts meeting and event spaces spanning up to 600 m², as well as an equipped gym and a heated pool.
“Morocco is a strategic country for the company's expansion plan. Our objective is to continue growing in Morocco and incorporate new hotels, mainly 4 and 5 stars, both in the vacation and urban segments, in those places where we are already present, as well as in new destinations,” - Ángel Esquinas, regional director of Barceló Hotel Group in Morocco and Tunisia.
With this latest opening, Barceló Hotel Group enhances its presence in Tangier, complementing its existing 5-star Barceló Tánger property on Mohamed VI Avenue. Furthermore, Barceló Hotel Group recently announced plans for the renovation of two five-star hotels in Casablanca and Rabat. Across Morocco, the hotel chain now manages nine properties in six key cities.
While Barceló Hotel Group continues to make waves in Morocco, its presence in Casablanca is complemented by the debut of Radisson Hotel Casablanca Gauthier La Citadelle.
