Audemars Piguet makes its first move into the hotel sector

The new hotel replaces the existing structure with an entirely new design in the Vallée de Joux. Hôtel des Horlogers is positioned between two 19th century buildings that constitute the watchmaker’s Swiss headquarters.

Danish architect firm Bjarke Ingels Group have come up with the hotel’s unique design, which replicates a watch spring. 50 rooms and suites accommodate guests across the hotel’s 2,500 m² interior.

The restaurant, La Table des Horlogers, is headed up by three Michelin star chef Emmanuel Renault. As part of the hotel’s greater sustainability drive, iPads have replaced printed menus in the restaurant and all its ingredients are sourced both seasonally and locally. Le Bar des Horlogers completes the F&B offering and provides more casual dining alongside signature cocktails.

Courtesy of Alpeor, the hotel’s spa employs only natural/botanically sourced products of Swiss origin. It features treatment rooms, a dry sauna, a hammam, a relaxation lounge and a sensorial shower.

Hôtel des Horlogers meets the latest Minergie-Eco® requirements for energy efficiency and eco-responsible construction. It is also 100% paperless and has a zero-plastic policy. Furthermore, 86 photovoltaic panels line the hotel’s roof.

Eco-friendly soap dispensers and shampoos with a reduced environmental impact result in 67 times less waste. It has its own bottling system for spring water from the Valley to reduce its carbon footprint.
