The MSc Wine & Hospitality Management created in October 2020 by EHL Hospitality Business School and KEDGE Wine School will welcome Anne-Sophie Pic and Marc Almert as the sponsors for its new intake of students. The programme trains future managers in the wine and hospitality sectors.
Anne-Sophie Pic got her start in the kitchen when she took over her father's restaurant in 1991. In 2007, she won three stars in the Michelin Guide, making her the first French woman to be awarded three stars for an establishment in France since Mère Brazier in 1933.
In total, she has accumulated 10 Michelin stars and received several awards, including the Veuve Clicquot Prize, and was named the world's best female chef in 2011 at the San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards. Together with her husband, Anne-Sophie Pic runs six restaurants around the world.
Marc Almert started in the hotel business at the Excelsior Hotel Ernst in Cologne after completing the International Baccalaureate at the age of 16. He quickly became interested in wine and in 2019 he took part in the ASI Best Sommelier of the world competition. At the age of 27, he won the title, making him one of the three youngest winners of the competition.
Since 2017, Marc Almert has been working at the restaurant Pavillon du Baur au Lac in Zurich. He was initially a sommelier before rising to the rank of head sommelier in summer 2019. In 2022, he was appointed member of the management board of Baur au Lac Vins, a prestigious wine merchant in Switzerland.
The duo will pass on their experience, their passion and will highlight the synergy between the wine industry and the hotel and catering industry to the students.
