Accor has announced the appointment of Alex Schellenberger to the role of Chief Marketing Officer for its premium, midscale, and economy brands, effective April 2023.
As part of Accor’s new organisation, Alex Schellenberger has taken over the marketing of the group’s premium, midscale, and economy brands. In his new role, he will report to Karelle Lamouche, Global CCO, and Jean-Jacques Morin, Deputy CEO.
Schellenberger began his career in marketing in 2005 at Procter & Gamble. Over the course of eleven years at the company, he held many senior roles including Brand Manager BRAUN DACH, Commercial Leader HUGO BOSS Fragrances, and Prestige Category Leader Asia Pacific & Country Leader Singapore.
In 2016, he moved to London when he was appointed Marketing Director Coty Luxury UK & Ireland by Coty Inc. In this role he principally led marketing for a luxury portfolio of 21 brands.
At the start of 2018, Schellenberger joined Swarovski. Initially Global Vice-President Marketing and Communications, he rose through the ranks and subsequently took on the roles of Senior VP Global Marketing Communication & Management and, finally, Senior VP Global Brand Management.
After nearly four years at the luxury crystal company, he began his adventure in hospitality with Accor in 2021. He first occupied the post of Chief Brand Officer Premium & Luxury, before being promoted in January 2022 to the title of Group Chief Brand Officer.
Alex Schellenberger holds a BSc in Economics and Marketing from Lancaster University and a Master’s in International Business from EAE Business School and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
