Accor has announced the signing of two new Mercure hotels in England. Both properties are set to open later this year.
Mercure Stifford Hall and Mercure Northampton will be a joint venture between real estate fund manager Frogmore and C1 Capital Partners. The signings will bring Mercure’s British portfolio to 81 hotels.
Located in Essex, Mercure Stifford Hall will open in a renovated 18th century Georgian hotel. The property will feature 97 guestrooms, seven meeting rooms, a restaurant, a bar, and a library area. It is surrounded by 6 acres of landscaped gardens. The hotel will operate under a franchise agreement.
Mercure Northampton is an existing 146-key property which will join the Mercure brand after renovation. It boasts a business centre and 12 meeting rooms capable of hosting up to 600 guests. The property will also be operated under a franchise agreement.
It is great to see the continued expansion of the Mercure brand across the UK. These signings are the latest announcements within a strong pipeline across Europe, signifying the strength of the internationally-recognised Mercure brand and industry-leading services to boost revenues for hotel owners, alongside the ability to retain the individual style and character of a boutique hotel.
Philip Lassman, Vice-President Development at Accor Northern Europe
These hotels offer great amenities for both business and leisure travellers. They are ideal properties for the Mercure brand and will benefit greatly from the power of Accor’s distribution and other services. Following the renovations, we look forward to working with Accor and seeing the success of both hotels.
