
The Luxury Collection Hotel has reopened following an extensive $25 million restoration.
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has reopened the historic Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastian. The nine-month renovation project was completed in time for the hotel's 100th anniversary and is part of a larger strategy to invest in the restoration of Starwood's Luxury Collection hotels."As part of Starwood's strategy to strengthen our Luxury Collection brand portfolio, we are making major investments to renovate and restore some of our most iconic hotels," commented Roeland Vos, President, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East.The reopening of Hotel Maria Cristina follows in the footsteps of the Hotel Alfonso XIII, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Seville, which underwent a multi-million dollar refurbishment earlier this year. The restoration of The Prince de Galles in Paris and The Gritti Palace in Venice will debut in 2013.
