Pulteney Bridge, Bath

After buying two adjacent properties in the city centre, St James’s Hotel Group began the development of a 117-bedroom boutique hotel in Bath. It will operate under a franchise agreement with IHG.

Pratt's Hotel as well as the Halcyon Hotel, acquired by St. James's from Forestdale Hotels in 2014, will close for 18 months as of next January when the group begin refurbishing these Georgian buildings on South Parade. The new property, which is expected to open in the spring of 2017, will feature a fitness center, as well as a restaurant and bar. It will operate under a franchise agreement between InterContinental Hotels Group and St. James's, a subsidiary of the Somerston Group.

The property will be located close to Bath Abbey and the Thermae Bath Spa. The city in the county of Somerset has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. It is a major tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, with more than one million visitors seeking accommodations each year. There are currently seven IHG hotels in Bath and the surrounding region.
