Westin enters the Dominican Republic

Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Westin brand is pursuing Caribbean expansion with its debut in the Dominican Republic. With the addition of the Westin Puntacana Resort & Club, the brand now has five establishments in the region, and over 50 worldwide.The new-built hotel, owned and operated by Grupo Puntacana, offers 200 guestrooms with direct access to three miles of beach. Additional facilities include a full-service spa, gym facilities, an outdoor pool, poolside grill, lobby bar, cigar bar, children's club, and meeting and wedding facilities.Further, the property offers access to walking trails, horseback riding, a 1,500 acre ecological reserve featuring twelve fresh water lagoons, a 45-holes of championship golf, nine restaurants, and a full-service marina.
