Boston Authorities have approved two new-build hotels for $137 million, both to be managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts. The two hotels will be under the Aloft and Element brands.
Starwood Hotels will be expanding in the city of Boston upon the approval of two new-build hotels by the Boston Redevelopment Authority. The development is part of a proposed $2 billion expansion of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (pictured) in South Boston.The construction of the two hotels will cost the hotel group $137 million. One of the buildings will be an Aloft-branded hotel with 330 guestrooms, while the other is to be an Element branded hotel with 180 guestrooms.Boston officials welcome the hotels, hearing no objections, as more rooms are crucial to attracting larger events, thereby utilizing the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center to its potential.
