IHG develops Oman network

InterContinental Hotels is on a path of expansion in Oman, with the opening of Crowne Plaza Duqm, its fourth hotel in the country.

The Crowne Plaza Duqm is IHG's fourth hotel in Oman. IHG plans to corner the corporate travel market with the Duqm opening, near the rapidly expanding Duqm Commercial Port and the Duqm International Airport in 2014.The beachfront property offers 213 rooms including 21 suites with direct sea views. Amenities include an outdoor pool area, fitness center, and five restaurants and lounges. Duqm Corniche and the geological rock gardens are also in the nearby vicinity for outdoors exploration.Meetings facilities include a 780 square meter Event Center with a business center and four separate meeting rooms, two ballrooms, and a boardroom.Pascal Gauvin, Chief Operating Office, India, Middle East and Africa for IHG, added notes that Oman continues to be an important market in the Middle East due to its focus on growing its travel tourism industry. IHG now operates in Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, and now Duqm.
