Located at the Golden Triangle of Art in the Spanish capital, the hotel is the newest addition to the brand's international portfolio and is owned by the ASG fund.
Hard Rock Hotels celebrates its 50th anniversary by entering Europe with its first managed hotel, which has just opened in Madrid, making it the 35th in its portfolio, to be followed later this year by another one in Budapest, also under management. ASG is the hotel owner, investor and developer. The fund acquired the property, which was previously a car park, and carried out an intense investment programme to reposition it as a 4-star hotel, as well as looking for a hotel operator to run it.
Hard Rock International has always felt very much in tune with the vibrancy and spirit of Spain and its people. It's one of the reasons we introduced the brand in Europe with Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza in 2014 and, shortly after, with our Tenerife hotel.
Dale Hipsh, Senior Vice President Hard Rock International
Hard Rock Hotel Madrid is our first urban hotel in Spain and therefore has a completely different personality to our beach resorts. It also has an outdoor swimming pool for guests and a Body Rock fitness centre.
The brand's flagship restaurant, the Sessions, designed by the Rockwell Group has an indoor lounge and an open terrace overlooking the garden. RT60 is its rooftop bar where with 360-degree views of the city.
In Spain, the group has 2 hotels both franchised and managed by Palladium Hotel Group in Ibiza and Tenerife.
ASG Homes, based in Jersey (USA), is owned by the ActivumSG group, which was founded in 2007 by Saul Goldstein and has a portfolio of assets under management of €2 billion located in Germany and Spain.
