Tivoli Hotels & Resorts is set to expand in Portugal with the opening of Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia Hotel, located on the south bank of the Douro River in Gaia. Scheduled to open in early 2025, the hotel will offer panoramic views of Porto and combine Tivoli’s hospitality heritage with the history of Kopke, the oldest Port Wine House, established in 1638.
Designed for both business and leisure travelers, the hotel will feature 150 guest rooms, including 10 suites, two restaurants, three bars, two swimming pools, a fitness center, and six meeting rooms. Additionally, the property will include 9,000 sqm of gardens for events and a Tivoli Spa offering treatments inspired by local elements.
“We are delighted to announce this exciting upcoming addition to the Tivoli portfolio in the Porto region with a truly special partnership with Kopke. With a beautiful and privileged location, this property will offer exceptional facilities to both business and leisure guests, connecting them with the world of port wine in a very exclusive way. We are honoured to be working with the team at Kopke to bring this property to fruition.” - Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO Minor International and CEO Minor Hotels, parent company of Tivoli Hotels & Resorts
Located near the Gaia riverfront and within walking distance of local attractions, the hotel will provide guests with access to the adjoining historic Kopke Port Wine cellar, offering experiences related to Port wine culture. Dining options will include a fine-dining restaurant, an all-day-dining venue, a wine bar, and a rooftop bar.
“We’re very proud to present our first hotel in partnership with Tivoli brand. This collaboration reflects our ambitions for the property and we believe that the partnership with Minor Hotels will be able to create a new world-class hotel that celebrates luxury and wine in a stunning location surrounded by unique world heritage, and paying homage to centuries of history.” - Pedro Braga, CEO Sogevinus, parent company of Kopke
