Oetker Collection has the announced the appointment of Jens Hackebeil to the role of Chief Financial Officer, effective 1st April 2023. He will also join the luxury hotel group’s Executive Committee where he will act as a key stakeholder in hotel project development activities.
A 12-year veteran of Oetker Collection, Hackebeil’s latest promotion will see him take charge of the day-to-day planning, implementing, managing, and controlling of all the group’s financial-related activities. In addition, he will direct and oversee all aspects of Finance, Group Accounting, Purchasing, Legal and Compliance functions of the organisation.
As the group’s CFO, he will work closely with CEO Timo Gruenert to provide strategic financial strategy for Oetker Collection. Finally, he will also assist property General Managers and Managing Directors on their individual financial plans and economic modelling.
After graduating from University of Brighton with a B.A. in International Hospitality Management, Jens Hackebeil immediately joined Oetker Collection. Beginning in 2011 as Corporate Controller / Assistant to CFO, he soon progressed to Head of Controlling of the Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa two years later.
After nearly four years at the hotel, he returned to head office when he rose to the position of Head of Finance. He occupied this role until September 2020, before being promoted once again to Vice-President Finance. As VP Finance, Hackebeil was responsible for overseeing all finance related matters for the organisation and also acted at Oetker Collection’s Compliance Officer.
In 2013, he completed the Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management PDP at Cornell University. Finally, between 2016-18, he obtained an MBA in Business Administration from Steinbeis School.
