Mama Shelter is making its debut in the Netherlands with the planned opening of Mama Shelter Amsterdam in 2027. Located in the evolving Noord district, the hotel will introduce its blend of vibrant design and social atmosphere to the Dutch capital.
Designed by Mama Shelter’s in-house team, the hotel will feature 150 guestrooms, each reflecting the character of the surrounding area. Guests can expect graffiti-covered ceilings, eccentric ornaments, and a lighthearted vibe throughout the hotel. The hotel's design aims to connect with the local area while embracing Mama Shelter's signature flair.
The hotel will be home to four food and beverage spaces, including an all-day dining restaurant, a restaurant bar, a terrace bar, and a rooftop bar. The property will also offer event spaces, including karaoke rooms and breakout areas designed for both social and private gatherings.
Mama Shelter Amsterdam is set in a lively neighborhood known for its cultural and nightlife scene, with easy access to the city's historical center, only 15 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal Station and 25 minutes from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The hotel’s location will appeal to both leisure and business travelers, offering proximity to key cultural landmarks such as the Eye Filmmuseum and the A’DAM Lookout.
Expected to open in the first quarter of 2027, the hotel is being developed by Chagall B.V and White House Development B.V, with design by Paul de Ruiter Architects. Construction is already underway, with a focus on sustainability and preserving the site’s industrial history.
Mama Shelter's approach to hospitality emphasizes creating vibrant and communal environments that blend comfort with social interaction. Each property is designed to reflect the local culture while offering stylish, affordable accommodations. The focus is not just on rooms but also on food, beverage, and entertainment, with trendy bars, communal dining spaces, and areas for live performances.
The brand's success stems from its ability to offer guests a combination of contemporary facilities and a welcoming atmosphere, with its committed staff playing a key role in creating this experience.
