Leonardo Hotels has announced the addition of the Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Forum to its portfolio, further expanding its presence in Spain. This marks the chain's fifth hotel in Barcelona and its nineteenth in the country, solidifying its commitment to growth in the Spanish market.

The hotel, which was acquired by the Fattal Hotel Group in 2024 for €80 million, was previously the AC Forum Hotel and is located in a strategic area next to the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) and the @22 technology district.

The Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Forum is designed to cater to the MICE and business travel segments. The property offers 19 meeting rooms that cover a total of 2,760 m², making it a suitable venue for events, conferences, and corporate gatherings. The hotel can accommodate up to 670 attendees for larger events, further enhancing its appeal to the business community.

In addition to its business offerings, the hotel features a range of amenities including an outdoor pool with panoramic views of the city, a gym, a restaurant offering Mediterranean tapas, a breakfast buffet, and a pool bar on the terrace. The property also has on-site parking, catering to guests traveling by car.

The hotel is located just a five-minute walk from Platja de Llevant, offering guests access to the beach, as well as excellent transport links to the city. This location makes the hotel appealing not only to business travelers but also to leisure guests who wish to explore the city during their stay.

This opening further reinforces Leonardo Hotels' position in the Spanish market and its ongoing efforts to expand its portfolio of properties that cater to both business and leisure segments in key European cities.

But apart from this opening in Spain, Leonardo Hotels is continuing its expansion across Southern Europe with several strategic openings and acquisitions. Firstly, in the Spanish market, the brand has strengthened its presence with the Leonardo Royal Hotel Barcelona Fira, a 204-room property that opened in 2021, further consolidating its footprint in the Catalan capital. Additionally, Leonardo Hotels expanded into Andalusia with the rebranding of the Vinci Granada hotel, marking its sixth establishment in Spain.

In Italy, Leonardo Hotels has also been growing its portfolio. The recent acquisition of the former Hotel dei Borgia, now the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Rome Monti, adds to the brand's expanding presence in Rome. Furthermore, the upcoming transformation of Hotel Cicerone into the NYX Hotel Rome by Leonardo Hotels, set for completion in 2025, showcases the brand's commitment to broadening its Italian offerings. These moves reflect Leonardo Hotels' ongoing strategy to expand across key Southern European markets, providing a mix of boutique and larger properties to cater to both business and leisure travelers.
