IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a new property in the northwestern Romanian town of Satu Mare. This latest addition to the company’s portfolio will see the Hotel Indigo lifestyle brand’s debut in the country.
Hotel Indigo Satu Mare is expected to welcome its first clients in 2025. It has been signed under a franchise agreement with Dacia SRL and will be managed by Hungarian operator Hotel & More.
The property will boast 62 guestrooms and suites, as well as a restaurant serving local Transylvanian-inspired fare, a cocktail bar, and a spa.
The hotel will be housed in an Art Nouveau building, which dates back to 1902. The town of Satu Mare is famed for its Old Town and can serve as a base to visit the surrounding Carpathian landscapes.
This new signing marks the beginning of a new partnership in Romania; to have introduced another brand to this growing market is an exciting milestone and we are so proud to be redeveloping one of the country’s most iconic hotels. Hotel Indigo Satu Mare will bring a defined lifestyle presence to the city and paves the way for further development in Romania.
