IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of nine new hotels across Portugal, adding 976 rooms to its growing portfolio. This expansion includes properties under the Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express brands.
Expansion of Essentials Collection
Four new Holiday Inn Express properties are set to join IHG's portfolio in Portugal, offering essential amenities like free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, and the Express Start Breakfast:
- Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lisbon – Amoreiras: Owned by Real Hotels Group, this 192-room hotel is set to open in early 2025 in Lisbon's financial district.
- Holiday Inn Express & Suites Portimão: Expected to open in the first half of 2025, this 60-room hotel is located near the marina and beaches in the Algarve.
- Holiday Inn Express Porto – Boavista: This 91-room hotel will open in late 2024 in Porto's Boavista neighborhood, near the city center and key tourist spots.
- Holiday Inn Express Evora: Set to open in late 2024, this 76-room hotel is in a historic building in Evora, a city known for its business and tourist attractions.
Additionally, two new Holiday Inn properties will join the portfolio:
- Holiday Inn Braga: Opening in late 2024, this 114-room hotel will be the first IHG property in Braga, a city known for its cultural history and festivals.
- Holiday Inn Beja: Located within the medieval walls of Beja Castle, this 95-room hotel will open in late 2024, providing easy access to the city center and major highways.
Luxury & Lifestyle Collection Growth
IHG is also expanding its luxury and lifestyle offerings with new signings under the Kimpton and Hotel Indigo brands:
- Kimpton Lisbon: The first Kimpton property in Lisbon, this 141-room hotel is set to open in early 2026, featuring high-quality finishes and seasonally inspired restaurants and bars.
- Hotel Indigo Albufeira: Opening in mid-2025, this 80-room hotel in the Algarve will offer a unique hospitality experience with a rooftop pool and bar.
- Hotel Indigo Faro: Scheduled to open in late 2026, this 127-room hotel in central Faro will feature a rooftop with views of the lagoon and marina.

Portugal remains a key market for IHG, which currently operates 20 hotels across seven brands in the country.
