Grupo Inversor Hesperia, a Spanish-based hospitality group, are in advanced negotiations with Accor to expand their brand footprint in Spain. The talks centre around the marketing of the former Expo Hotel Valencia as a Novotel property.

The property is owned by Swiss bank Pictet after a €30 million acquisition last year. The former Expo Hotel Valencia would be operated by Hesperia and commercialised under the Novotel brand.

Previously a 3* hotel, the property will undergo an extensive renovation to upgrade it to 4* and improve its sustainability performance.

Located a short walk from Valencia’s historic centre, the hotel boasts approximately 400 guestrooms, a rooftop terrace with outdoor pool, a restaurant, a bar and a large MICE space.

Grupo Inversor Hesperia plans to expand its portfolio in the Iberian country. In May of this year, the Grand Hyatt La Manga Club and Resort will open its doors in Murcia.
