In August 2024, H World International acquired the full rights to the Zleep Hotels brand in response to the growing demand in the economy segment. At the same time, the joint venture with its Danish partner was dissolved, and operations under the Zleep Hotels brand in Denmark will cease at the end of January 2025. The company is now focusing on expanding the brand in Central and Eastern Europe, in line with its “asset-light” strategy.
The first Zleep Hotel in Germany will soon open near Frankfurt Airport in Kelsterbach, with an opening planned for the first quarter of 2025. This project marks a significant development for the brand in Germany.
“Over the past two years, we have established the Zleep Hotels brand in Europe by opening hotels in Madrid, Prague, Lausanne, and Zurich. We are aiming to develop our economy lifestyle brand with new strategic partnerships. Our current pipeline for new Zleep Hotels is encouraging and underscores our commitment,” stated Oliver Bonke, CEO of H World International.
Germany is a key growth market for the brand, with projects also underway in Hamburg, Leipzig, and Göppingen.
“We are proud of our strategic partnerships with companies such as Säntis Home, Penta Real Estate, Commerz Real, and Nemis Hotels, with whom we are driving the brand’s growth. We have already signed framework agreements for ten new Zleep Hotels and are in negotiations for additional agreements with other partners in Central and Eastern Europe,” Bonke added.
The expansion of Zleep Hotels is also advancing in Switzerland. “Our projects in Switzerland and the Zleep Hotels brand are an ideal match. We appreciate the good cooperation and trust with the dynamic team at H World International,” said Rico Zindel, CEO of Säntis Home AG.
This collaboration led to the opening of the Zleep Hotel in Zurich-Kloten, with two other properties currently in development in Bern-West and Lucerne-Emmenbrücke.
Zleep Hotels offers an approach combining affordable prices with a minimalist design. Inspired by Danish design principles, the brand prioritizes natural and durable materials to create a modern and functional environment. “The public areas are designed as social spaces for meeting, working, enjoying a coffee or a cold beer,” the company explains. This concept is suitable for both new buildings and the conversion of existing ones, providing flexibility and efficiency in management.
With these projects, Zleep Hotels aims to strengthen its position in the economy hotel sector across Europe and to continue its development in the coming years.
