Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts announced that Alejandro Reynal took over as its President and Chief Executive Officer on 17th October 2022. He succeeds John Davison in the role, who stated his intention to retire in 2021 after 20 years with the company. Davison will remain a member of Four Seasons’ board.
Alejandro Reynal will be charged with putting his two decades of leadership experience in the global travel and hospitality, business, and telecommunications industries to the service of the luxury company. In his new role, he will be responsible for ushering Four Seasons into its next chapter of continued growth, innovation and strategic development across new and existing interests. The company has recently opened its 50th residential property and also announced plans to expand its luxury offer with private jet and yacht experiences.
Reynal obtained a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology between 1990 and 1995. In 2000, he completed an MBA in General Management at Harvard Business School. The 49-year-old began his career with The Coca-Cola Company as Business Development Manager, before moving to Gap Inc. and Emprecentro, which he co-founded in 1999.
He joined Telefonica in 2000 and, over the course of 11 years with the telecommunications company, progressed from Country Manager, Puerto Rico to Global Strategy Director. In 2011, Reynal was appointed CEO & Board Member of Atento, a role which he held for over 7 years. He moved to Apple Leisure Group in 2019 where he was President & CEO. After the group was acquired by Hyatt Hotels Corporation in 2021, he continued in his role at ALG, and was also appointed Executive Vice-President & Member of the Executive Committee of the global hospitality company.
Alejandro is a highly-respected and experienced CEO who will guide Four Seasons through the next phase of its evolution as one of the world’s foremost luxury brands. Throughout his career, Alejandro has led and inspired global teams to embrace innovation, leverage the power of data and insights, and deliver top financial performance and value to both investors and customers. We feel deep gratitude toward John and all that he has done to make Four Seasons even more successful and look forward to his contributions as a Board member as Alejandro builds on our shared vision toward achieving long-term strategic growth.

John Davison has been a tremendous leader and colleague for more than 20 years, and I am deeply grateful to him and our executive leadership team for their unwavering leadership through some of the hospitality industry’s most challenging times. Alejandro joins Four Seasons as we mark the start of a new chapter, building upon our legacy of success and a culture that we have collectively championed over more than 60 years. He is a proven leader and executive, and even more importantly, a person of integrity with a deep commitment to excellence and a keen understanding of Four Seasons values and genuine heart.
Isadore Sharp, Founder & Chairman of Four Seasons
It is an honour to join Four Seasons, a company I have always admired for its unwavering focus on its values and for the boldness of its innovative spirit. I look forward to working with the Board, executive leadership team, and the more than 50,000 employees worldwide whose dedication to excellence and personalised service sits at the heart of Four Seasons, and continuing to drive our success now and in the future. There are numerous strategic opportunities ahead, and we are well positioned to steer a new course in the luxury space that will further enhance the value and power of our brand.
