Relais & Châteaux’s debut Andalusian hotel, La Fonda Heritage Hotel, will officially open its doors on 1st April in the Old Town of Marbella.
Located on Plaza del Santo Cristo, the 20-key luxury boutique hotel boasts gourmet restaurants, open courtyards, a sky bar, and traditional architecture dating back to the 16th century. Comprised of three restored historical buildings, the site was previously a private residence and then a church and a school before being transformed into a hotel in the 1960s.
The restoration work on the property combines contemporary design and comforts with original elements such as its ancient walls and murals. Its interiors showcase traditional floor tiles and glass walls alongside plush furnishings and modern decor. Trees in the hotel’s courtyards provide shade for guests.
La Fonda Heritage Hotel contains 20 guestrooms, including three suites. Each room enjoys its own unique design, and some also feature terraces and balconies overlooking the town. The Heritage Suite is home to the original dome of the Church's dressing room and 18th century mural paintings of angels adorn it.
The hotel’s F&B offer consists of three venues. Its signature eatery, Jane, serves up Andalusian and Mediterranean produce combined with flavours from around the globe. Atop the property, guests can enjoy champagne cocktails, oysters, and a raw menu at the sky bar. Finally, Los Patios de La Fonda provides coffee, breakfast, and a brunch menu.
Relais & Châteaux values the preservation of history and recognises the same ethos and attitude in La Fonda Heritage Hotel’s commitment to conserving the building and restoring its architectural magnificence. We commend La Fonda’s passion for its history and vision for the future. These shared ideals are of significant importance in our collaboration with the hotel.

It is rare to find a boutique hotel that is home to not only one, but three distinct dining options. I believe that our restaurants and lounges offer an experience that truly sets us apart and will provide an exciting addition to Marbella’s lively social scene. Whether sipping cocktails above the city’s bright lights or soaking up the fun and flair of Jane – La Fonda offers a stylish, hip venue for hotel guests and Marbella’s cosmopolitan crowd in the heart of Old Town.
