February 2023: sea, city, and mountain - a look at the French hotel industry on all fronts

Despite the unstable context, notably marked by strike movements, the French hotel industry did not falter this month. Supported by the school holidays which were spread over the whole month (first zone from 4th of February), tourists are present, both on the seaside, in the mountains, but also in big cities.

France posted a 16.4% increase in RevPAR thanks to an ADR +20% higher than in February 2019. Attendance was almost identical to 2019 (-1.8 points only). The upscale segment performed the best this month with +23.1% RevPAR growth enabled by a +30% higher ADR , even though footfall was almost back to...
