Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Arora Group have reached an agreement for the redevelopment of the Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa in Bedfordshire.

The 5* hotel was acquired in December 2021 by Arora Group, one of the UK's largest owner-operators.

Following the agreement between the two hospitality players, Luton Hoo will undergo a multi-million-pound refurbishment over the next few years. Once the work is complete, it will operate under the Fairmont logo.

Built in 1601, the estate covers 445 hectares. Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa features a Mansion House, gardens and luxury amenities. It is within easy reach of Luton airport, London, and Cambridge.

This addition will bring Fairmont's portfolio in the UK and Ireland to five properties.

We are delighted to have this opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Arora Group, building on our tremendous success at Fairmont Windsor Park. This is an exciting project, a real milestone in the history of the region, and we are honoured that Arora has entrusted Fairmont with it.

Sébastien Bazin, CEO of Accor

Few hotels in the world have such a rich heritage and such grand and elegant grounds as the Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa. It is the perfect addition to a collection of hotels that includes such icons as the Plaza in New York, the Savoy in London, and the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai. We will be honoured to welcome the Luton Hoo Hotel to the Fairmont family, and we look forward to seeing its transformation unfold over the coming months and years.

Mark Willis, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

We are incredibly proud to welcome once again the prestigious Fairmont brand to Arora’s portfolio of hotels. Our estate has grown considerably over the past decade, and we are delighted that this historic hotel will join our other flagship properties. The Luton Hoo guest book includes names such as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who spent part of their honeymoon at the hotel, and Sir Winston Churchill, who gave his famous post-war speech here to a crowd of 110,000. We look forward to the redevelopment, which will build on the experience garnered from Fairmont Windsor Park, and to restoring this magnificent hotel to its full glory and potential.
