The group has acquired two hotels in the coastal town of Biarritz: Le Regina and Le Garage. The Experimental Group is expanding its presence in Europe and the United States following a €350 million investment.
Both properties will be renovated by the group before being integrated into its French portfolio. The Experimental Group will rethink the design, F&B offering and atmosphere of each, with its Made in France approach at the core of the work. During this period of renovation, both hotels will remain open for business as usual.
Le Regina Hotel & Spa currently has 72 rooms, a spa, an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and a bar. The building was constructed in the architectural style of the Belle Epoque and first opened its doors in 1907.
As for Le Garage, the hotel was opened in 2021 in a building that previously housed a former automobile repair garage. It features 27 rooms as well as private terraces and a swimming pool.
Since 2014, I am very happy to have renovated and managed, alongside Le Regina’s team, the hotel’s renewal and to have led, more recently, the renovation project of Le Garage, in the magnificent region that is the Basque Country. It is now with pleasure and no little emotion that I hand them over to the Experimental Group so that they may give new life to these establishments, which I am know will be successful.
Thierry Minsé, CEO of Neris
We are delighted to have found not one, but two iconic properties in Biarritz to be part of our portfolio. We have been looking to open in the area for years and have been waiting for the right address, where we could create our style of hospitality and welcome our regular guests, many of whom are frequent visitors to the town. We are ecstatic to welcome the teams from both hotels to the group and to develop the Experimental brand in Biarritz.
Olivier Bon, co-founder of the Experimental Group
