Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of SCHLOSS Roxburghe. The move signals the debut of the Destination by Hyatt brand in the United Kingdom. It comes as part of Hyatt’s designs to expand its luxury brands across European destinations.

SCHLOSS Roxburghe is located near the Scottish market town of Kelso. The property underwent extensive renovation work before reopening in January 2023. It now boasts 102 keys, consisting of guestrooms, suites, and classically designed Scottish cottages.

58 new rooms and suites were added during the works, and all are situated within or nearby the historic manor house and The Estate House. Set in the woodlands that make up part of the property’s 300 acres, the cottages feature additional living space, fitted kitchens, and furnished garden terraces.

SCHLOSS Spa is a 1,100 m² wellbeing facility, which includes an outdoor heated infinity swimming pool with an underwater sound system, a plunge pool, a hot tub, a Finnish dry sauna, and a glass-fronted aromatic sauna. It also features a 600 m² relaxation area and three treatment rooms.

The property offers facilities for varied leisure pursuits. It boasts an 18-hole championship golf course, walking trails, dog-friendly facilities, and its Country Sports Centre allows guests to partake in salmon fishing, archery, and clay pigeon shooting.

SCHLOSS Roxburghe’s F&B offering is made up of two on-site gastronomic restaurants, a tearoom, a bar, and a lounge. The property serves up traditional Scottish cuisine with a modern twist and promotes an ‘Estate to plate’ philosophy, under the guidance of Executive Head Chef Olivier Borja. Charlie’s restaurant has a ‘Scottish bistronomy’ themed menu and Sunlaws provides elevated cosmopolitan fare. The Drawing Room for afternoon tea, Bar 1745, and State Room Lounge complete the offer.

Finally, the hotel has a purpose-built banqueting suite and extensive meetings facilities for events and conferences.

As the first Hyatt hotel to open its doors in Scotland and the 14th property in the UK, this immersive country retreat reflects the growing demand from World of Hyatt members and guests for discovery-filled experiences in some of Britain’s most sought-after locations.
