The international hotel group BWH Hotels continues to expand its presence in Germany with the addition of two new hotels in Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since the end of August, the Hotel Jakob Regensburg Downtown and the Hotel Central Regensburg CityCentre have been part of the BWH Hotels ‘Collections’, increasing the number of BWH Hotels in this region of Bavaria to three.
These two hotels, operated by André Zitzelsberger GmbH, join the BW Signature Collection by Best Western and the Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western respectively. Thanks to this affiliation, they will benefit from BWH Hotels' international sales and marketing force while retaining their apparent independence.
‘We are very pleased to welcome two new properties in Regensburg to our group. The destination is very attractive for both tourists and business travellers, and we see great potential for success.’ - Marcus Smola, Managing Director of BWH Hotels Central Europe
Both hotels are well established in Regensburg's hotel landscape. The Hotel Jakob Regensburg Downtownv has 56 rooms and the Hotel Central Regensburg CityCentre 75 rooms.
‘We chose BWH Hotels as our brand partner because of its international marketing approach. This enables us to reach customer groups that we would not be able to attract on our own via our own channels’. Thanks to their integration into a central reservation system and their participation in sales and marketing activities, both hotels can now concentrate even more on their role as host. ‘With the two brand collections of BWH Hotels, we are part of a strong global group while remaining completely autonomous.’ - Ralph Schleupner, Director of the Hotel Jakob Regensburg Downtown and the Hotel Central Regensburg CityCentre, together with André Zitzelsberger, General Manager and Operator of both hotels
Located in Regensburg's Old Town, the Hotel Jakob Regensburg Downtown boasts a historic building dating back to 1781, which was completely renovated in 2013. Formerly used as a warehouse, municipal administration building and police station, this historic monument retains a unique feature: a well-preserved original cell accessible to visitors. The hotel offers three room categories - Economic, Business, and First - as well as a hearty breakfast and parking spaces for guests.
Not far from the train station, the Hotel Central Regensburg CityCentre, now a member of the Sure Hotel Collection, offers 75 rooms. The hotel also has two meeting rooms for small conferences, as well as a comprehensive parking infrastructure, including an underground car park and outdoor spaces.
