The independent hotel group, Bespoke Hotels, has appointed Richard Grove as Chief Operating Officer. Furthermore, Steve Ogden and Jake Greenall have been selected to take up the roles of general managers of The Chester Grosvenor and Sun Street Hotel, respectively.

Richard Grove joined Bespoke in 2015 and served as General Manager of The Chester Grosvenor for over 7 years. In parallel, he combined his position with regional roles at other properties: Mill Hotel & Spa, Oddfellows Chester and Oddfellows Cheadle. Previously, he held senior positions at Cranage Hall and Palace Hotel in Manchester, and the Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel.

Steve Ogden has 27 years’ experience in the industry and worked at high-end hotels such as Cottons Hotel and Spa, Lion Quays Hotel and Spa, and Pennyhill Park. He will replace Grove as General Manager of The Chester Grosvenor.

Jake Greenall will be tasked with the running of the group’s Sun Street Hotel, which is set to open in London in October of this year. The new five-star establishment will boast 41 guestrooms, multiple dining options and suites designed by Bowler James Brindley. Greenall joins from Beaverbrook, where he most recently served as Town House Manager, after having held the positions of Duty Manager and House Manager. Prior to that, he was Sales Manager at True Luxury Travel from 2017 to 2018.

We are delighted to welcome Richard into his new role as COO and with his impressive knowledge of the industry and proven ability to lead, we have no doubt his new placement will be a real success. This is a very promising time for Bespoke Hotels, with the portfolio continuing to grow across the UK and overseas, as well as our existing properties continuing to thrive following the hardships of the pandemic.

Thomas Greenall, CEO of Bespoke Hotels

This is a really exciting step in my career and after many years managing luxury hotels across the country, I am looking forward to putting this knowledge to good use by supporting other budding hoteliers within one of the most reputable brands in the industry.

Richard Grove, COO of Bespoke Hotels

The Chester Grosvenor is a renowned property in the northwest, and I’m delighted to be able to oversee it. With the hotel having a long-established reputation for excellence, I’ll be seeking to build on that going forward as we look to maintain the highest of standards, continuing to provide delicious cuisine and superb hospitality for our guests.

Steve Ogden, General Manager of The Chester Grosvenor

I am delighted to be appointed general manager at Sun Street Hotel. It is a hotel with a heartbeat, a place where guests are treated like part of the family, not just a room number. It’s a home away from home for guests, but with the added benefits that a luxury five-star hotel can bring.
