Auberge Resorts Collection will double its European portfolio when its takes over management of Domaine des Etangs. The historic French chateau located near Angoulême will pass to the collection’s hands in April 2023.
Domaine des Etangs is a 5* luxury hotel housed inside a 13th century chateau and surrounded by 1,000 hectares of preserved nature. It features a 40-cover gastronomic restaurant, a well-being space, an art gallery, farm buildings, thermal baths, and a vegetable garden. The grounds of the estate encompass forests, prairies, gardens, and ponds.
Its accommodation offer is spread across different buildings in the grounds. Six farm buildings provide space and privacy for guests, a one-storey farmhouse offers four junior suites, and the chateau itself houses seven guestrooms and suites.
It is the second property to join Auberge Resorts Collection, after Grace Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection in Santorini. In 2024, Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection, near Florence, will join the two luxury hotels in the collection’s European portfolio.
