The new 2024 opening in the town of Vila Viçosa comes as part of the brand’s strategic expansion across Europe. The project is the fruit of a partnership between Portuguese group Investaureum and Anantara.
Anantara Royal Vila Viçosa will boast 50 guestrooms, 10 suites and 16 residences across its three floors. A 40-metre outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool as well as three dining options including a stylish restaurant and bar, a private fine dining area and a wine cellar will feature in the luxury hotel. To round off the property’s amenities, there will also be an Anantara Spa, a fitness room and three conference spaces.
The 15th century site formerly housed a monastery. Its conversion into a five-star luxury hotel is being led by Anantara and partner Investaureum. The interior design will be the work of architecture, urbanism and design studio Broadway Malyan. The final product will respect the history and characteristics of the building’s original spaces and heritage.
The Investaureum Group is proud to partner with Minor Hotels and the Anantara brand. It is a real pleasure to embrace this project, not only due to the beauty of the property but also giving the opportunity to highlight Investaureum as a developer and promoter, where the refurbishment and legacy of heritage buildings, combined with the social responsibility and investment in regions of low population density, are the main drive.
