Louvre Hotels Group locates to Rungis International Market

The Campanile Rungis Hotel and the new Culinary University of Louvre Hotels Group "Chaud Devant !" opened in the Rungis market.

The 3-star hotel provides 84 fully equipped rooms, including 5 family suites, a restaurant, a lounge bar, and an outdoor terrace. The property also hosts the Louvre Hotels Group’s new Corporate Food University “Chaud Devant” which aims at training its staff in the fields of catering and hospitality ahead of the economic recovery.

Located on the garden floor of the hotel Campanile Rungis-Orly, this venue has been specially designed to provide training in the catering and food service industry. It could also host private seminars and events for external companies. “Chaud Devant” provides 350 m² dedicated to the catering trade, 150 m² or outdoor spaces dedicated to biodiversity, more than 40 in house training courses and an access to more than 1,000 fresh food producers thanks to it is proximity with the Rungis International Market.

Designed in partnership with the London design agency Blue Plate, a specialty Food&Beverage design studio of Wilson Associates, the venue has an experimental bar, a food workshop and creativity rooms.

The training courses will be given by the Group's restaurant chefs. Some modules have been designed in partnership with famous French chefs, such as Philippe Renard and the “Cuisine mode d'emploi” teams, who will address broader themes like world cuisine and pastry making. The courses will be conducted in person or via distance learning, through virtual reality and e-learning channels.

Prior to opening, several events have been successfully held in the venue including several in-house waiter and barman training courses in order to prepare the hotels reopening, a partnership with “Les Compagnons du Devoir”, an organisation of craftsmen specialised in the field of taste. Chaud Devant! gives them access to its venue twice a week. The Rungis Primeur Challenge The primeurs (greengrocers) have taken up the challenge of creating artistic works for their customers. The final took place at Chaud Devant! in Rungis Market on 23 September in the presence of prestigious jury members Stéphane Layani and Louise Petitrenaud.

Rungis International Market is the largest fresh produce market in the world with 1.7 million tonnes of food products traded every year.In 2024, the Val-de-Marne region ambitions to become the Paris-Rungis City of Gastronomy, a new intercultural venue designed to promote a sustainable and responsible approach to food around several creative and welcoming spaces.
