Because leisure and tourism are sometimes two things that are intertwined, but they are also often two very distinct things.
If we consume leisure products when we are on holiday, a canoe trip or a guided tour of a destination for example, sitting on the sofa in front of a video on demand service is also consuming leisure time.
So how can potential customers be encouraged to consume tourism? What elements should be used in your communication? What services should you offer in the construction of your product? How to capture active retirees and make them want to consume overnight stays?
Olivier Babeau founded the Sapiens Institute in 2017 after having been director of studies and spokesperson for the Fondation Concorde. He has published several books in which he studies the trends of modern society, the latest of which was published in 2023: The Tyranny of Entertainment.
