Hospitality Operator Forum

A number of factors, both endogenous and exogenous, make it difficult to create, develop or reposition a business. However, the hospitality sector is no stranger to adaptation and change, and knows how to cope, often staying one step ahead. So what are the specific trends and indicators that need to be taken into account when planning your business? Find out at the Hospitality Operator Forum on May 29th.

Choosing means giving up

This is an approach that Michael Levie adopted alongside Rattan Chadha when he created the CitizenM brand in 2009. No connecting rooms, no family offer, but a clearly defined target with a maximum range of services supported by digital tools. "Continuing to do what you've always done is not the way forward," stresses Michael Levie, who is now devoting his energies to a number of other projects. 15 years and dozens of Citizen M projects later, his vision may have evolved, but it remains fundamentally the same, and he'll be sharing it with us.

Getting to know Michael Levie: upon graduating from Essec MBA in hospitality management (IMHI Cornell / Essec), worked for various international hotel chains including Sonesta International Hotels Corporation and NH Hoteles all over the world. As Vice-President of Operations, he managed large hotel portfolios. Michael also worked for SynXis, where he started and headed up the European office. Michael Levie is a founding partner of citizenM hotels and was responsible for the hotel side of the company. Currently Michael’s focus is on assisting organizations in the hospitality space, who accelerate and impact transformation.

Artificial intelligence: fantasy, myth and real potential

AI is nothing new, but it has come a long way in the last 10 years, especially generative AI. How can we make the most of it to stand out from the crowd and offer our customers and employees the best possible experience? What place will this tool leave for the human touch in an industry where contact and relationships are fundamental? How can AI Gen be mobilised to tap into productivity reserves?

How can we position ourselves in the future Internet advertising market? Where will the value lie and how can it be retained within the sector?

Meet Gilles Moyse, PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Chairman of reciTAL, an AI start-up dedicated to automatic language and document processing. In September 2023, he published Donnerons-nous notre langue au ChatGPT, with a preface by Etienne Klein. He has taught AI at Sciences Po and ESCP Europe. He is a member of the G20 Entrepreneurs delegation and was awarded the AI Awards Paris.

Nothing is permanent except change

And our blue planet has been experiencing a great deal of change in recent years. Some risks have a direct impact on accommodation providers. Submergence, floods, fires, heatwaves - how can we prevent rather than cure? What kind of offer can we imagine for the future to provide the best protection against risks and continue to bring social and economic activity to our destinaions?

Maxime Blondeau will be shedding some light on these challenges. Maxime Blondeau is an author, speaker and entrepreneur. Over 110,000 subscribers follow his Cosmorama newsletter and his daily posts on Linkedin. Since 2016, he has been teaching at Sciences Po Paris and the Ecole des Mines, on the mechanisms of representation of territory and technologies. In a word, cosmography. In addition to his work as an advisor to public and private organisations, he has given nearly 80 lectures since 2022, and produces audiovisual content dedicated to climate, territory and the ecological transition. His first book, Géoconscience, is scheduled for publication in 2025.
