Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya Hotel & Congress Center is the largest international congress hotel in Russia with a significant Soviet history, which we want to share.

Excursion to the soviet-style suite in Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya Hotel & Congress Center.

For the 1980 Olympics, the Soviet government set out to build a hotel that would provide services in line with European standards. In 1978 the Intourist Pribaltiyskaya hotel opened its doors for the first tourists. The hotel was designed by the famous architect Nikolay Baranov and the Swedish construction company Skanska. Now this building is listed amongst the most significant works of modernism architecture in Russia.

In June 2021 we launched a conceptual excursion program to increase the public awareness about cultural and historical values as well as unique architectural concept of the Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya Hotel & Congress Center. The hotel team organized the excursion project to the soviet-style suite that has become a real museum.
The idea of the project belongs to the GM & Leisure sales director. It came to them the pandemic, when the sales team was looking for an unconventional project. It was clear from the clients’ enquiries that they were interested in film history (some famous soviet films were shot here, such as “Interdevochka”, “Zimnyaa Vishnya”), others wanted the stories from the past (Alla Pugacheva had a favorite suite in this hotel), a lot of people were interested in design of the building.

The hotel team gathered all the historical furniture, telephones, old photos, details of interior, and used the only non-renovated room left from Soviet period to recreate the atmosphere of that period by paying attention to interior details such as massive wooden tables, leather armchairs, old rotary phones, and many other things.

Excursions to the hotel are organized on a regular basis in cooperation with the St. Pete sightseeing agency “Through the Eyes of Engineers”. In the first months of cooperation, more than 100 people visited the hotel and we received positive feedback from critics, bloggers and guides. We also attracted media attention, had a short story on TV, publications in media, including Forbes magazine. We increased our Instagram followers by more than 50 people (+3%), the number of interactions with content by +300%.
