Odalys x FNSF

Campaign - Odalys x FNSF - Protecting women victims of domestic violence

The Odalys Group has made 100 studio apartments and apartments available at no charge for a duration of several months to the 73 Solidarité Femmes associations within the FNSF.

The President of the French Republic has made the fight against domestic violence a major national cause, a bane which affects an average of 219,000 women in France each year and which was strongly accentuated during the lockdown periods that took place over last 18 months.

Despite the creation of new places in accommodation announced by the Government, in particular following the Grenelle against domestic violence, the majority of shelters have neither sufficient places nor resources to be able to receive the victims and their children 24 hours/day.

In the face of the emergency to protect women victims of domestic violence and to place them in safety within adapted establishments, the Odalys Group, in partnership with the Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes (FNSF) and its network of 73 Solidarité Femmes associations, has decided to make 100 studio apartments and apartments available at no charge for a duration of several months for this purpose. This accommodation is adapted with secured entrance, each with a kitchenette, living/sleeping area, private toilet and bathroom meeting the requirements demanded by the associations to shelter women victims of domestic violence.

Since the signing of the partnership at the beginning of March 2021, 83 people (40 women and 43 children) have been welcomed within our 250 Odalys Vacances and Odalys City establishments across France, the equivalent of 7,600 overnight stays.

The Odalys Group is the first private accommodation provider to sign a partnership agreement on a national level with the Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes (FNSF) providing accommodation allowing women victims of violence, along with their children, to live in autonomy and safety.

For the Odalys Group, this is a strong initative that is part of the continuity of the Government’s action against domestic and family violence. Via its action, the Odalys Group wishes to incite other accommodation providers to join in and therefore respond more largely to the lack of beds available to be able to place victims in safety in adapted establishments.
